The Kaijin Thread

Postby Yardarm51 » Thu Aug 27, 2009 10:18 pm

Hey there I thought I'd start this off with a new figure from the fertile mind of Kaijin. He's called Skanp and a few of them were available at the recent PopBox show at Loft in Shibuya, Tokyo. All of the pieces available were very pricey hand painted customs.

First shots of Skanp

Skanp is described as a "sound collector". I guess that explains the big ears on the figure eh?

A new Fulcraim has also been announced and it will be on sale next week as part of the Oneup 8th Anniversary series of figures. It's a gel toothpaste kind of blue and is GiD.

How's that for a first post? :D

Oh you got another pic. I've been trying to get pics of the other three he painted but nothing so far other than a long distance shot of his booth at Popbox. Nice figure but I think I like his Fulcraim a bit more.

Ahh... it looks like the Kaijin Blog has caught up to us and killed our picture links. I'm not sure why Kaijin always does that but he doesn't like folks directly linking to his pictures. Guess it's a bandwidth thing.

Anyway the new blue Fulcraim is called Ceremony of Start.

I'm really starting to get into Kaijin. I had seen some Kaijin pieces before, but never paid much attention. After seeing these and looking into other pieces a bit more, I'm really liking them!

Anyone have a Kaijin collection they want to show off?

I dig Kaijin but haven't been following him as much as I used to. I will be getting the new Fulcraim though.

Here's some of my collection.

The Black and Gold is called Nobel Beast and it isn't actually all that tough to come across. You just need to know someone with a Yahoo Japan account. ;)

Zinc, just a few pics there eh? Seems to me I recognize a few of them eh?

I just missed out on one of the Prototype ones last week. It went before I had a chance to bid on it. Grrrr... under ¥14,000!! Hardest damn one to get and I let it slip through my fingers.

Someone show me more Kaijin!

You say that the Nobel Beast isn't too tough to come across, tell me more about it. How big is it? How much do they run? Do YOU know someone with a Yahoo Japan account?
